Coaching at Roade Tennis Club

Roade has a Junior programme running all year round offering children from 3 to 18 a chance to learn and develop their tennis skills. Throughout the year we have tournaments and camps (Easter & Summer). All coaches are LTA accredited, holding current first aid and safeguarding qualifications. It is part of the ethos of the coaching programme that every child has a positive experience whilst on court. Alex Dunn (Skills4sport.com) is the Head Coach and has been with us for over 12 years. During this time Alex has developed the club creating strong links with 6 primary schools and the local secondary school (breakfast clubs, curriculum PE lessons, festivals and tournaments including the South Northants & Daventry School Level 2 Tennis Tournament & the LTA leadership programme). Schools work is important to grow the sport as having solid foundations allows a bigger pool of players to play socially or to compete at the club. Alex has developed and worked with county champions across all age groups, and has been the coach three times for Northants County School team winners. The Programme also introduces the juniors into the adult league teams. To book a group or individual lesson please contact Alex on 07739 426683.

Adult coaching is also offered with group and individual sessions throughout the year. As part of the coaching programme “Cardio Tennis” is a must for all levels looking to play tennis (fitness, fun, meeting other players, developing strokes). With the recent addition of floodlights we will be offering group adult sessions during days and evenings.

Junior Programme 2019

Saturday is currently the main focus of the coaching programme, with sessions running from 9am – 2.30pm. Over the past 9 months we have raised enough money to get the courts replaced and new floodlights. This will have a significant impact by being able to offer more junior sessions throughout the week, all year round.
